The Big Picture
Our goal is to have Offensive Women become a haven for women comedians to speak their minds and be hilarious. We produce live shows, shoot video, blogs and generally make trouble. Our dream is to become a cultural juggernaut with national tours, feature films and tons of merch. Oh, and a show on HBO. Go big or go home, people!
Why Are We Offensive?
Webster’s Dictionary defines the word offensive [uh-fen-siv ] as: 1. repugnant to the moral sense, good taste, or the like; insulting: an offensive remark; an offensive joke.and 2. of, relating to, or designed for attack e.g., the coach said, 'the defense is over, it’s all about the offense - now get out there and HUSTLE!”
OFFENSE is all about context and intent. In some parts of the world in comedy clubs, if more than one woman is on a show, that’s an offense to tradition. In some parts of the world when a woman walks down the street exposing her face or ankles, it’s a cultural offense. Some politicians are offended by the idea that two people of the same sex might actually fall in love. Offensive Women asks the question — “Why are people so fucking sensitive?”
